Pets on Elgar – Veterinary Clinic and Grooming Salon

Pets on Elgar is a training clinic and grooming salon operated by Box Hill Institute that offers real veterinary and grooming services while giving veterinary nursing and pet grooming students practical, supervised experience. The facility provides a range of preventative and clinical services — from general health checks, vaccinations and annual assessments to dental examinations, worming and parasite control advice, diet and nutrition guidance, and skin and coat management. Basic surgical procedures, including spay and neuter, are performed by veterinary professionals, and the team also offers nail trimming, ear cleaning and specialised grooming tailored to breed standards or owner preferences. Beyond hands-on care, Pets on Elgar emphasises professional standards, animal hygiene and overall wellness: staff provide behaviour and wellness advice to help pets and owners. As an educational workplace it also runs opportunities for community groups and students to learn about pet care, combining service delivery with training. The clinic highlights sustainability in its operations, including waste recycling through a partnership with Sustainable Salons Australia, reflecting a commitment to responsible practice alongside quality pet care. Pets on Elgar is suited to pet owners seeking affordable, competent veterinary and grooming services delivered in a supportive, student-training environment under professional supervision.
