K9PATs

K9PATs is a Bassendean-based dog training service that specialises in training assistance, therapy and service dogs using positive reinforcement methods. They work with owners and handlers to build reliable task, obedience and public-access skills so dogs can support people with disabilities. K9PATs also runs readiness assessments — Public Access Test (PAT) and Behaviour & Obedience Assessment (BOA) — to evaluate a dog’s suitability for assistance work and public access certification. Beyond assistance dog programs, K9PATs offers behaviour consultations and obedience training for dogs with issues such as fear, reactivity, anxiety or aggression, and provides puppy consultation and early training to set young dogs up with the right foundations. They combine practical training programs with assessments to help owners understand their dog’s progress and readiness for more advanced roles. K9PATs additionally lists grooming services for dogs and cats, making them a practical option for owners who want both training and basic care support. Overall, their approach centres on positive reinforcement and structured assessment work, aimed at preparing dogs for everyday public access and task-focused roles while supporting owners through behaviour change and early puppy development.
