Elwood Vet

Elwood Vet is a local veterinary practice serving pet owners in Elwood and the Bayside suburbs, focused on delivering science-backed, compassionate care for companion animals. The clinic offers routine wellness services like check-ups and vaccinations alongside diagnostic work (radiography and lab testing) to identify health issues accurately. They provide personalized medical consultations and treatment planning, and they emphasize careful, evidence-based decision-making rather than unnecessary upselling. For chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis in dogs, Elwood Vet offers advanced options including Beransa® (a monoclonal antibody therapy targeting nerve growth factor), while taking a cautious approach: discussing risks and benefits with owners and closely monitoring patients on new treatments. The practice also provides urgent and emergency attention when needed, client education on topics like managing baby birds and osteoarthritis, and compassionate end-of-life and palliative care. The team prioritizes safety and tailoring care to each patient’s needs, values clear communication, and encourages clients to contact them by email for medical records since their online client portal was retired. Overall, Elwood Vet presents as a thoughtful, modern veterinary clinic dedicated to pet welfare through practical, evidence-informed care and supportive client relationships.
