Adelaide Kitten Rescue is a volunteer-run, non-profit group in South Australia focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming vulnerable kittens, especially neonatal and at-risk kittens. They operate a foster-based model, taking in kittens from situations of abandonment or neglect and providing veterinary treatment and nurturing care in foster homes until the kittens are healthy and ready for adoption. The group emphasizes community involvement and education, working to prevent unwanted litters and promote responsible pet ownership through outreach and support for adopters and foster carers. Their team collaborates with local veterinary clinics and community partners to ensure rescued kittens receive medical attention and supplies, and they actively call for volunteers, fosters, donations, and adopters to support their mission. The organisation has tracked outcomes such as adoptions and highlights ongoing support for new owners and foster families, reflecting a hands-on approach to animal welfare and long-term wellbeing for the kittens they save.
