KOALA RESCUE Inc. is a volunteer-operated, not-for-profit charity based in Adelaide, South Australia, focused on rescuing, treating and returning koalas to the wild. They operate a 24/7 rescue service responding to injured, sick, orphaned and displaced koalas across Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills and the Mt Lofty Ranges, working quickly to get animals the help they need. Rescued koalas receive medical treatment and rehabilitation with the goal of eventual release back into their natural habitat. The group is entirely volunteer-run and does not receive government funding, relying instead on donations and koala adoption programs to cover costs. KOALA RESCUE Inc. also places strong emphasis on community engagement and education, running programs for schools and community groups to raise awareness about koala conservation, habitat loss and disease. They maintain close communication and information sharing with veterinary clinics and treatment centres to ensure rescued koalas receive appropriate care. Overall, the organisation combines rapid-response rescue work, hands-on rehabilitation and community outreach to support koala welfare and conservation in their service region.
