Fairview Lodge Animal Shelter

Fairview Lodge Animal Shelter is a not-for-profit shelter in South Australia that focuses on the rehabilitation, care, and rehoming of farm and large animals. They provide medical care, nurturing, and recovery services to animals such as horses, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ducks, and geese, offering a safe, compassionate environment until each animal is ready for a suitable new home. The shelter emphasizes responsible rehoming and animal welfare, preparing animals for placement with appropriate owners rather than rehoming dogs or cats. The organisation is in the process of relocating to a new, larger facility in Birdwood to enhance its care capacity and operations, and continues to care for animals at its Hillier location until the move is complete. During the relocation phase the shelter is not open to the public, and they actively share updates and engage with the community through social media to keep supporters informed and involved. Overall, Fairview Lodge presents as a specialized sanctuary for large and farm animals with a clear focus on rehabilitation, safe rehoming, and community support.
