Southside Dog School is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit dog training group in Cheltenham that focuses on humane, reward-based training to help dogs and their owners build better relationships. Classes run regularly throughout the year—mainly on Thursday and Sunday mornings—and concentrate on basic obedience, good manners and social skills delivered through positive reinforcement. The school emphasizes the welfare of dogs in all sessions, promoting gentle training methods and practical owner education. In addition to their regular classes, they also run occasional specialist workshops and events on particular training topics, and provide consultation and advice to support owners working on behavior issues. Being volunteer-operated, the school is community-minded and adopts sensible safety policies such as cancelling sessions during extreme heat. They share updates and contact information for attendees and those interested in joining, making it straightforward for local dog owners to find and participate in friendly, effective training opportunities.
