Alpha Dog Training

Alpha Dog Training is a Melbourne-based dog training organisation with decades of hands-on experience and a strong focus on practical, outcome-driven results. They offer a wide range of training options for puppies and adult dogs, including weekly group obedience classes (suitable from 8 weeks old), puppy training, private lessons and home visits for personalised support, and an intensive 4-day fast-track program for owners who need quick, concentrated progress. For dogs that benefit from social time plus training, their Play & Train and Alpha Doggy Playcare combine supervised socialisation with structured lessons, and they also operate doggy daycare and boarding kennels for owners needing day or overnight care. The team specialises in rehabilitating serious behaviour problems — aggression, nuisance barking, jumping, resource issues and destructive behaviours — using practical techniques meant to teach reliable responses beyond food rewards. Trainers complete extensive hands-on training and use their own well-trained dogs for realistic demonstrations. Owners can also access an Alpha Video Resource Centre with instructional videos for extra practice or refreshers, and the centre runs socialisation sessions, Saturday walks and refresher courses to keep skills sharp. Overall, Alpha Dog Training emphasises proven, practical approaches to help owners build dependable obedience and resolve challenging behaviours.
