Awesome Lodge is a family-run boutique greyhound training and stud operation based in Pearcedale, Victoria, run by the Thompson family with more than 20 years of experience in racing and breeding. They focus on elite racing greyhounds and offer a personalized approach to training and career management for competitive dogs, supporting champion racers as well as breeding programs. As a stud facility they provide comprehensive breeding support including stud dog services, frozen vial handling and transfers, and hands-on care for brood bitches and pups. The team uses reproductive tools like progesterone testing and artificial insemination (AI) matings to time and manage breedings effectively. The business grew from a strong racing background — founded by Jason Thompson, a trainer with notable successes including a Melbourne Cup win with Light Of Fire — and the operation is named after a successful stud dog, Awesome Assassin. Owners emphasize individual attention, experienced management of racing careers, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in both training and breeding for racing greyhounds.
