Gepps Cross Dog Training Centre is a volunteer-led, community-focused dog obedience club based at Somerset Reserve in Clearview, South Australia, offering friendly, positive-reinforcement training for dogs and their owners. The club aims to help dogs become obedient, confident and well-socialised through classes suitable for all ages and breeds — from puppies to seniors — and focuses on building a strong human-dog bond using Persistence, Patience and Praise. Members can expect practical lessons that teach quiet walking, calm sitting, reliable recall and immediate obedience, delivered in a safe, encouraging environment. Sessions include group classes on Sunday mornings with multiple levels and demonstrations, plus free information sessions to help owners learn about training techniques and behaviour management. The organisation emphasizes praise and encouragement over reprimands and provides tailored support for individual needs, including one-on-one assistance and behavioural problem-solving. Affordable membership, community events and an affiliation with the South Australian Canine Association reinforce the club’s accessible, supportive approach to lifelong learning for dogs and their people.
