Dover Gardens Kennel & Obedience Club Inc. is a long-established, community-focused dog training club (founded in 1969) that welcomes dogs and their owners at all skill levels. They run a broad program of classes including obedience and rally, plus specialist activities such as scent work and flyball, and a puppy kindergarten for young dogs starting their training and socialisation. Classes cater from beginner puppy training through to advanced competitive preparation, with an emphasis on safety, fun and education in a supportive environment. The club is active in dog sports and regularly organises and participates in competitions and events, including annual obedience competitions held in May and October, and posts results and awards to recognise members’ achievements. Training sessions generally resume in February each year, and the club maintains practical policies to protect dogs in hot weather. Membership provides access to classes and club activities, and the club stays engaged with its community through notices and updates on social channels. Overall, the club focuses on promoting responsible dog ownership, skill development, socialisation and sportsmanship among local dog owners and enthusiasts.
